Resumé

Hi, I'm Nick! I'm a senior front-end developer with 8 years of experience in a broad spectrum of projects.

TL;DR

I'm a senior front-end developer with 8 years of experience in a broad spectrum of different projects.

At my current job—at a design agency specialized in data visualisation—I worked on highly complex projects for an interesting variety of clients. During some of those projects, I took on a technical team lead role, leading several junior and medior developers. In that role, I was responsible for the more technical client communication as well as the architecture, maintainability and general 'workability' of the codebase and both people and machine processes around testing, reviewing and deploying code.

In 2018 I graduated cum laude as a Bachelor of Science at Communication and Multimedia Design at the Amsterdam University of Applied Science. The study educates T-shaped designers with a basis in user experience design, along with a broad choice of electives. I took mainly front-end development electives.

CLEVER°FRANKE (C°F) is an internationally focused design agency specialized in data visualisation. I worked here as a front-end developer on several long term projects, including an internal dashboard for Warner Music Group, a web application for the Swiss B-Corp Globalance Bank and various smaller projects.

As a dashboard, the WMG project, Opus, was used by much of the workforce of the globally distributed company, in 10+ timezones and 20+ countries with thousands of users, from Japan to Brazil to South Africa and France.

    Responsibilities included:

    • Building and maintaining a sound codebase architecture that empowers colleagues to be productive
    • Providing colleagues with a safe environment for a healthy code review cycle
    • Spotting tech-related issues early and flagging with management and client
    • Represent the tech team of a project in client meetings
    • Collaboration with 3rd party stakeholders, mainly API providers
    • Guiding and training interns and junior colleagues
    • Recruitment of new colleagues, with a personal focus on diversity
  • Cobra Systems

    Role
    Front-end developer
    When

Cobra Systems, at the time, was a company providing wireless networks hardware and accompanying user portals. I worked on several of these wireless network access portals. Later, I helped the company move into the digital design space as the sole digital designer and front-end developer there.

In that capacity, I worked on several projects for small business owners as well as a project for an internationally focused conference organizer in the meat processing industry, later on supported by a UX designer.
